Jack Russell x Patterdale Terrier

Living with a Jack Russell x Patterdale Terrier by member Manda994

J.D is a pleasure to own, he is a cheeky chappy who doesnt really need you for a lot, he is more than happy to spend his days running around on his own and playing on his own. He does enjoy cuddles (which are always on his terms - theres no way you can snuggle with J.D if he doesnt want to!!) He is extremeley bright, almost to bright, he mastered the sit, stay, paw, beg etc by the time he was thirteen weeks old, it is difficult to keep him occupied as he is so willing to learn new tricks you run out of ideas to teach him.

Problems
One problem that we have always had with J.D is barking and squealing at other dogs on the lead. We have never been able to let him off the lead as he is extemely adventurous (the kind of - chase that bird until my mum cant see it.. Nats can vouch for this one!)

Health
We havent had any medical issues as such, J.D gets itchy skin every now and then, and gets obsessive over itching and scratching it. .

Quick to train?
J.D was extremeley quick to train, he is very eager to please.

Easy to Groom
J.D is easy to groom, he likes a good brush, a good bath and a good spell under the hair dryer! Nail clipping is a BIG issue, it is something he will not tolerate (long gone are the days off snipping the tips off if his sleep like we used to when he was a puppy!)
